LED Wall Art for the Living Room and Bedroom

LED wall art for a living room or bedroom starts with the wall, not the artwork. The shape of the empty wall decides the size and the kind of panel that fits. Here is how to choose the wall and the size, in order.

1. The empty wall decides first

A wide, empty stretch of wall — above a sofa, behind a counter, along a hallway — takes a landscape panel. A tall, narrow space — an entrance, a stair landing, between two columns — takes a portrait one. Pick the panel first and look for a wall later, and it rarely fits.

Wall color matters too. On a white wall, a colorful piece stands out. On a dark wall, only the lit lines remain and the outline sharpens. In a room with dark furniture, a panel with fewer colors won’t fight it.

2. Above furniture, or a bare wall

Above a sofa or a bed, the panel sits in your view when you sit or lie down. Light at eye level is bright, so a panel with a smaller lit area suits the space over furniture.

On a bare wall it’s the opposite: the more space around one panel, the more it stands out. One larger panel keeps a room calmer than two side by side.

3. Size

Four sizes: A3 (40 × 30 cm / 15.7 × 11.8 in), A2 (56 × 42 cm / 22.0 × 16.5 in), A1 (80 × 60 cm / 31.5 × 23.6 in), A0 (112 × 84 cm / 44.1 × 33.1 in). Aim for one third to one half of the wall’s width.

4. The color of the light

Besides the colors of the artwork itself, you can choose warm white (3000K), daylight (6000K), or a single color: red, orange, gold, green, blue, purple or pink.

If the room is lit warm white, a warm white panel blends in. To make one spot stand out, pick a color different from the room’s lighting.
